Tower Bloxx Deluxe (XBLA) – Review – Xbox 360

Tower Bloxx Deluxe By Digital Chocolate was released this past Wednesday on the Xbox live Marketplace. It is a practically fun game and has 3 single player modes and 3 Local Multiplayer modes. Quick game where you try to make as large a tower as you can. You have 3 total lives. For example one of the achievements in the game requires you to make a tower that is 500 sections tall in this mode. That is pretty tall order. There is a story mode where you create a city in 5 different sections. You have 5 basic tower types that different depending on the style of the tower and how high they are able to be built; the higher they are the more population you can fit in the tower. You get a bonus population growth if you can place the towers perfectly on top of each other. The object in this mode is to grow your city’s population as large as possible. The third mode is Time Trial the objective is the same as in Quick Game but differs in that you have a time limit but you can gain extra time by building your tower higher you gain 10 seconds for every 10 blocks you place. In all these modes you must compete with the tower moving the higher it gets the faster it moves back and forth making it harder to place the blocks.

As for multiplayer mode you have co-op which is the same as Quick Game a Time Trial mode where you can compete with up to four players to build the highest tower in the allotted time. You also have the ability to compete in a battle mode. You cannot play this game over Xbox live I found to be a drag. It Features some pretty tough achievements and also gives you a couple cool gamer pictures. The game is pretty basic and is a great game to just pick up and play. Though I can’t see anyone playing this for hours on end. I would recommend it to anyone that love’s casual games and love’s a challenge.
