Bioshock 2 – Review – Xbox 360

You enter the world of rapture as a Big Daddy known only as Delta. Set approximately 10 years after the original Bioshock events. A women known as Sofia Lamb now runs Rapture and her denizens known as “The Family”. You must find your little sister Eleanor who was stolen from you and fight all of Rapture to get to her.

Story: The story can be predicable at times but is mostly well thought out. If you played the original Bioshock you already know the about Rapture and the initial reveal of the city will not be as big of a surprise. The story is basic; you fight and get the goal. The game can be completed in about 7 hours on medium difficulty.

Gameplay: The game play’s almost exactly like the first except for the inclusion of dual wielding both a gun and your plasmids. They included a new hacking system instead of a water tube game you have to hack machines during normal gameplay. The main character walks slower than in most FPS’s but in this game it’s ok because everything is scaled to perfection. Little Sisters take on a different form this time round as the game allows you to take them to bodies to recover Adam. You are still eventually faced with the choice of saving them or taking their Adam by force.

Graphics: The graphics are impressive but lack real improvement over the original. You feel as if your playing an expansion pack of the original game.

Multiplayer: Multiplayer is fun but lacks the excitement of other games. I found myself waiting for about a half hour to play a single game. The objectives of the different gamemodes remind me of Halo 3 and wer’nt to off the wall to understand.

Overall: The story is a little short and the inclusion of multiplayer seems a little forced. Overall if you loved the original game you will love Bioshock 2.

Pros: Good Story

Being the Big Daddy

Cons: Feels exactly like the original Bioshock.

Score: 7.5 out of 10
