Darwinia+ (XBLA) – Review – Xbox 360

Story: The story starts with you entering a world built inside the internet. You are told by Dr. Sepulveda that this world has been infected by a virus which has disrupted the normal flow. Your goal is to set everything back to normal and on the way upgrading your capabilities.

Gameplay: Gameplay is pretty basic. You control your units using a basic RTS style control system. The two main units you will use most frequently are called the Squad, and the Engineer. The controls are very basic and very easy to maneuver units. Instructions are given to you by Dr. Sepulveda in the form of text. You must be careful to read all the instructions as they can be missed if you skip them and I could not find a way for them to be repeated. Later in the game you need to prepare for some enemies as they can surprisingly take you out.

Graphics: The graphics are pretty basic but get the job done. They fit the game very well and remind me of a first gen 3D game with vector graphics.

Multiplayer: There are many different modes that pit you against an enemy or friend online. Each game mode is different and fun.

Overall: This game is very original and very fun. Each mission can last about an hour and offers limitless ways to play. Anyone can pick this game up and have fun.

Pros: Original Great Story Fun Missions

Cons: You can miss instructions if impatient

Score: 8 Out of 10
