Five Minute Review: KrissX (XBLA)

I normally like to provide a little more about a game when reviewing it, but when it comes to KrissX I am at a disadvantage.  The problem comes from KrissX being a very simple and not enjoyable game.  The type of game that a reviewer fears getting because it provides nothing in the form of entertainment. The concept is simple.  You are provided what can only be described as a cross word puzzle with the answers filled in, only the letters are out of order.  You are tasked with rearranging the letters to form the correct words.   Since there are only so many letter combination’s you are faced with the games first and biggest flaw, difficulty.   I have never prided myself on being a puzzle genius or a literary know-it-all(apparent through the many typos I find in this post) but the ease at which I blasted through the different levels of the game, left me thinking that my 6 year old son could do it just as well.  If he hadn’t been at his mom’s I may have even had him give it a shot. While the premise and even the difficulty of KrissX are 2nd grade level,  there still is no fun involved in the game.  Since there is no fun and the game provides no challenge, I felt no accomplishment as I racked up achievement after achievement.  The best feeling I got was realizing I had played the game enough to go ahead and write the review. Could I explain more of the game?  Most definitely but I am hard-pressed to find a reason.  The game is bland, boring and quite frankly if I had payed for it, I would be pissed.  Stay away unless you want your brain to melt.
