Prison Break – The Conspiracy – Review – Xbox 360

After hearing that one of my favorite shows was being canceled suddenly during the 4th season I was sort of disappointed that FOX didn’t bring it back, though I must admit it was getting sort of boring. Noticing that the gaming company Zootfly and 20th Century FOX teamed up and made a game out of the show gave me hope that the legacy will live on.

Story: You play as Tom Paxton. An unknown character from the show, hired by The Company to aid the escapees disappear from Fox River Penitentiary. The show started out with a brother being sent to prison for murder, his brother, in turn gets his whole body tattooed and subsequently holds up a bank, then gets sent into the same prison that his brother is in, to break him out.

Gameplay: The game I would best describe this as being like would be Splinter Cell. The point of the game is to get as close to the main characters and break out of prison with them. There are off limit rooms that you have to sneak around, getting caught by inmates or guards or workers make you restart from the last checkpoint. You also have the ability to attack people and get into fights, though the fights are not usually in most missions, unless they are scripted into the scene. The fights are button-mashing Rock’em Sock’em Robot style, and gets a little boring.   There are alot of quick time events. Most of them are button mashing followed by pressing 1 button. You can work out to get stronger which will help during the fight sequences, especially on the harder difficulties, which there are 3 of.

Sound/graphics: All of the actors from the show portray their respective except for Charles westmoreland. Someone else plays that character. Each of the actors look as they did on the show, except for Charles. Also in the game David Boat plays Paxton. Fox River seems pretty accurate from what was shown on tv. The graphics are somewhat messed up. Sometimes I notice you can get stuck in walls.

Multiplayer:  There is some multiplayer in the game, though the only thing you can do is battle one another in a fight.  It is also only local.

Overall: if you are a fan of the show this is pretty good for a game. If you want an easy game to play I would also recommend this one

Pros

  • easy achievements
  • Fan based game
  • cool story line

Cons

  • Fights aren’t that great
  • just another movie game
  • couple glitches here and there

SCORE: 7 OUT OF 10
