Zombies Rise on Xbox Live

First Strike, the first DLC Map Pack from Treyarch for Call of Duty Black Ops is now available for Xbox 360 on this first day of February 2011. The Black Ops Map Pack 1 will at first be available only on Xbox 360, as a timed exclusive. That’s a lot of firsts, but we’re not done yet…The First Strike Map Pack also features some multiplayer firsts for the Call of Duty franchise. The MP map “Kowloon” will feature a number of zip-lines for quickly crossing distances in this more vertical level. The real revolution in gaming is on the new “Discovery” map, which features small, destructible snow bridges. How many years now has DICE been doing destructible environments in the Battlefield franchise..? It is nice that Treyarch is at least trying to advance the CoD formula, what with the new dive move and the amazing new Wager Matches (One in the Chamber, Sticks and Stones, Gun Game, and Sharpshooter).

Anyone hoping for a glimpse of zombies will be disappointed by this video. You don’t get any footage of the new Commie Zombies map “Ascension”. Honestly you don’t need it anyway. Your obsession with zombies will compel you to pay the full $15 for the First Strike Map Pack, even if you never play the regular Multiplayer modes.
