Report: Xbox 720 Coming Next Fall; To Be Six Times More Powerful Than The Xbox 360.

IGN is reporting that the next Xbox is coming next fall around late October or early November. The website is also reporting that mass production of the system’s GPU will begin before the end of the year and will be based using AMD’s Radeon 6670. Initially, this might disappoing some because this model came out last year, however, it still packs six times the processing power of the Xbox 360. This would mean that the console would be offering Direct X11, multidisplay output, 3D support and 1080p output. Currently the chip retails for around $79.99.

This would give Microsoft’s console 20-percent greater performance than the Wii U. The report says that developers are likely to receive development kits in August.

I am not sure how this would be 20% more powerful than the Wii U, because the later was said to be comparable to Xbox360 and PS3 in terms of capabilities… I guess as we approach the release of the new console we will get more accurate info…
